Share the Road Ride, October 5, 2014
All Pro Bicycles is proud to sponsor the 5th Annual Share the Road Ride. Choose from a Century, Half-Century, or 25 mile ride around Simi Valley. Ride a portion of Stage 8 of the Tour of California, including Balcom Canyon Wall. Visit ShareTheRoadRidesV.com for more info or to register. Routes are available online at MapMyRide.com. Choose from the 25 mile, the 50 mile, or the Challenge Century. Proceeds benefit the Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation, a non-profit providing peer-based support to grieving, with an emphasis on those who have been widowed.
Core Strength Circuit Training
When we spend a disproportionate amount of time on a specific discipline like running, we run the risk of injury, primarily due to muscle imbalances and little core strength. Most people seem to know this but are not sure how to go about starting a strength training program or lack the discipline to do it consistently. Sandy Hartwell, friend of the shop and certified personal trainer is considering starting a circuit training group in the park. This is not a bootcamp. It is circuit training designed to incorporate cardio vascular intervals with a full body strengthening and core workout. Sessions will run anywhere from 45 - 60 minutes and will include warm up and cool down stretching. We would do this in Lincoln Park behind Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. The initial cost would be $120/month and we will meet 8 times per month on Mondays and Wednesdays at 945am. I will put a cap of 12 people per session. If we get at least 10 to commit, I'll add a third day each week at no additional cost. We can start as soon as next week. Contact the Shop to be put in touch with Sandy.
